Our methodology

The AI Independence Score

Every product gets a 0-100 AI Independence Score built from four sub-scores:

• Privacy - how much data stays on the device.
• Offline ability - which AI features work with no connection.
• Subscription freedom - what breaks the day you stop paying.
• Longevity - how long the AI is supported.

Each sub-score is graded from documented, sourced facts - never invented.

Store ratings

The headline star rating is a volume-weighted blend of big-box retailers' own aggregate ratings, weighted by review count. We show the number and link to the source. We never reproduce individual review text.

What we never do

• We never let a brand pay to remove a bad review.
• We never copy other sites' review text.
• We never fabricate a rating where no permitted source exists.
